How to do a Mountain Scene
Digital Video, 5 mins
2010
Annie Davey uses empirical observation to re-present art historical narratives and sites of deemed cultural importance, enjoying the mismatch that occurs when these are confronted with commonplace events and vernacular appropriation. Work includes a contemporary art school curriculum based on ancient Greek models of education, a re-make of an amateur porn DVD inadvertently captured by a pub during a Spencer Tunick installation, and an irreverent documentary situated on the site of much romanticised Black Mountain College.
