Biography:
In addition to his individual work in drawing, painting, video, installation
and performance, Pedro Lasch leads on-going projects with immigrant communities
and art collectives, such as 16 Beaver Group. His work has been shown at
The Queens Museum of Art, The Walker Art Center, MASS MoCA, The Nasher Museum
of Art (US), Baltic: The Centre for Contemporary Art, The Royal College of
Art (UK), Centro Arte Alameda, Centro Nacional de las Artes (Mexico), The
Singapore Art Museum, and The Gwangju Biennial (South Korea), among others.
He is represented by Stephan Stoyanov Gallery in New York City, and galerieofmarseille
in Marseille, France
Lasch was born and raised in Mexico City. He currently divides his time between New York (NY) and Durham (NC), where he is an Assistant Research Professor of Visual Art in the Department of Art, Art History, and Visual Studies at Duke University. For the academic year of Fall 2009 and Spring 2010, Lasch will be on leave from Duke University, and working in London, UK.
